Peace

April 14, 2013

‘We cannot achieve world peace without first achieving peace within ourselves…Peace starts within each one of us. When we have inner peace, we can be at peace with those around us. When our community is in a state of peace, it can share that peace with neighbouring communities and so on. When we feel love and kindness toward others, it not only makes others feel loved and cared for, but it helps us also to develop inner happiness and peace….’

‘Inner peace in an atmosphere of Hatred, Anger,Competition and Violence, no lasting Peace can be achieved. These negative and destructive forces must be overcome by Compassion, Love and Altruism – which are the essential teachings of the Buddha’.

HH the fourteenth Dalai Lama.
